Trauma does not discriminate based on someone's intersectionality. My goal is to practice therapy that can be used across SES, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, or age, which I've found in Holistic and Psychosomatic healing. Anyone seeking services does not need a diagnosis to receive support; therapy is sought out because they are experiencing distress or difficulty in their daily living. I believe our behaviors and cognitions stem from our past, are influenced by our innate stress responses, and by our internal and external narratives. Our mind and body do so much to protect and equip ourselves to continue to push forward. I want to create a safe space to allow your mind and body to release that build-up of stress and to honor the hard work you've done behind the scenes. In my practice, I use Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies, Narrative and Psychodynamic Theories, and Art and Expressive Therapy. I will be receiving my EMDR certification with the help of Walk Intuit, to assist in informing clients, reprocessing trauma, and re-establishing a mind-body connection. I am honored to support you in your mental health journey.
In undergrad, I received my Bachelor in Fine Arts with a minor in Psychology to pursue art therapy. In grad school, I focused my attention on Marriage and Family Therapy, where I had the enlightening experience of working at the Children's Hospital of Orange County in their Mental Health Inpatient Center, providing treatment for high acuity pediatric mental health. I had the privilege of working alongside CHOC's Inpatient Art Therapist for a couple years, solidifying my decision to use integrative and holistic therapies. My MFT traineeship at Mariposa Women & Family Center reassured my passion to support children and adults healing from trauma. Now, I have my AMFT, gained experience working in in-patient, PHP, IOP, and out-patient, and now have the wonderful opportunity to work alongside inspiring clinicians to provide innovative treatment for others. What an honor it is to be here with you!
By day I'm a therapist; by night I'm an artist. The latest theme explored within my artistry is the mind’s search for solitude, where the canvas holds a safe space for my brain and body to engage in catharsis. I've devoted my career to psychology not only for its passion to support others, but also for its clarity in my life-long relationship with mental health. I participate in my own therapy to become a better therapist, advocate, and artist, and I've found healing in reacquainting myself with art for its therapeutic and explorative expression. My hope is to create safe spaces for others to explore, play, and find community in.
